Gabriele Galimberti has captured some of the most heartwarming father/child relationships from around the globe. Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti is known for his poignant visual narratives. He has immortalized fathers from around the world, frozen in moments of joyous shared with their children. Galimberti draws on his own childhood to reveal the many tapestries of parenting, emphasizing parents’ unique connections with their children.

In his memory, “It was a Saturday evening in late February.” It is 1986. I am 8-and-a half years old. I am getting ready to go to bed. I am very excited to see the morning. In just a few short hours, I’ll be able to see something that has happened almost every Sunday in the past year. My father will put his hand on my shoulders and shake me awake while saying, “Gabri! Wake up!” It is six o’clock. We’re going to go fishing. For more than a year now, since my mother gave my father a small fishing boat, it has been a Sunday ritual for my father and me, sometimes alone, but usually with friends.
