The winners of the 14th Epson International Pano Award have been announced. Above, you can see the top honoree: Spanish photographer Jose D. Riquelme. The Epson International Pano Awards are the world’s premier competition for panoramic photographs. They celebrate the best panoramic photography around the globe.

Riquelme is a passionate landscape and night photographer from Murcia in Spain. Riquelme, who has a background in graphic design and printmaking, only began taking photographs eight years ago. In the first two years of his photography career, Riquelme relied on his smartphone to capture captivating compositions, often in unphotogenic and overlooked locations.

“2023 was once again a year of truly inspiring entries for the Pano Awards. All of them are excellent in terms creativity and quality. Epson is proud of its sponsorship of these awards, which bring together photographers from all backgrounds and levels.

The current edition of the competition attracted 4,414 entries from 1,104 photographers, both amateur and professional, representing 102 different countries. The number of entries has increased significantly compared to last year.

“After 12 visits to Iceland and exploring its magnificent lands, at a rest area, I decided to switch my perspective by launching my drone. To my surprise, I managed to capture this amazing image. Riquelme’s overall winning image The Bridge is composed of lines forming a bridge from left to right. On the ground, abstract shapes appear from the flowing water that originates from the glacier.
